IPv6 is the next internet protocol, but most equipment is not ready for this yet. So running a small server on my intranet I have no use for it and frankly it started causing me some problems.

But it’s easy to disable in Ubuntu so here goes, first we need to open a file called ‘/etc/sysctl.conf’ and a add a few lines to the bottom of this file and these are

Save the file and reboot, now you should have IPv6 disabled, then to check

You should have  1 returned and that’s it, job done.
